The Mad Hatter Tea Party was chosen as our signature event because our Youth Advisory Board aligned itself with the thoughts of the great English author, Lewis Carroll, who was frustrated with the world he found in chaos. As the author of “Alice in Wonderland”, he highlights the importance of education to prevent the chaos. The Mad Hatter is the key figure at the tea party. Alice represents our youth finding themselves in a chaotic world.Wonderland is not really another world. It is in fact our own world, only seen through the eyes of a child.
